Yes, I realize that it's strange for me to be giving car maintenance tips since I generally can't even find the steering wheel on most cars, but here's a helpful tip from my experience today.  I'm trying to wrap up bunches of odds and ends before the kids get here, and one thing on my list of odds and ends has been to replace a couple of air filters in the car.  They were overdue.

I replaced the engine air filter, which was surprisingly clean after 40,000 miles.  I also replaced the cabin air filter, which was surprisingly dirty.  So my tip of the day is that if you've never replaced the cabin air filter, you might want to give it a try.  In my car, I had to somewhat disassemble the door to the glove compartment to get to the cabin air filter, but it wasn't too bad.  I was done in ten minutes.  I'm sure I'll be breathing much more easily now when I'm in my car.
