Autoimmune diseases galore

Well, here's an interesting development:  Lindsey most likely has an autoimmune disorder called Graves' disease.  It's a disease of the thyroid.  They're doing a blood test to be sure, but she has several of the classic symptoms:  her eyes are becoming more prominent, her hands are shaky, she loses her hair easily, she eats a ton but never gains weight, and she has a rapid heartbeat.  We're in touch with an endocrinologist.  It's treatable with medication, from what I hear, but it's something she'll have to watch for the rest of her life.

As you may recall, Lindsey's thrilled that I have MS.  Now she and I get to deal with our messed-up immune systems together.  Not quite the bonding experience I was looking for, but it works, right?
