As the mood strikes me, I'm going to occasionally list some German words that would be quite interesting if we literally translated them into English and used them when we move back to Minnesota. I thought of this today when Lindsey was watching a cartoon about Caillou visiting the dentist.
In German, the word for dentist is Zahnartzt, which literally translated means "tooth doctor." So, if you want to impress your friends, tell them that you're going to have your teeth cleaned by the "tooth doctor."
