Okay, here goes. It's about nose hair.

There are many unappealing things about getting older. Less energy, more fat, difficulty sleeping through the night, decreased tolerance for loud children ages 12 and 7, and all of that. Two of those less-appealing aspects are gray hair and nose hair.

I was prepared for that. I knew that I'd have an increase in both types of hair as I got older. What I wasn't prepared for was that they would come together in horrifying ways.

Today in the mirror, I noticed a gray nose hair peeking out.

It had never occurred to me that along with increasing in quantity, my nose hair would start to go gray. Did everyone know this but me? Why didn't anyone warn me? I guess it makes sense that if all the hair on my head is starting to turn gray, it would actually include all of the hair on my head. I just found it a bit depressing.

The offending hair was removed in short order, but I'm sure it's the first of many. Sheesh.
