We've crossed a line

I suppose it was inevitable the way things have been going. Lindsey may have finally officially surpassed me in her mastery of German.

We went to the store today. There was a sign there with one word I couldn't understand. I asked her if she knew what it meant. She did. That was a bit embarrassing. It's not like she's fluent or anything, but I think she's now better than me.
