As most of you know, life is particularly challenging if you happen to be a Stace. She's had her share of struggles for the past dozen or so years, including depression, headaches, fatigue, and, of course, being married to me. Who wouldn't be overwhelmed by all of that?
Anyway, we've decided that it would be best for her to take some time off from the daily stresses of life and to start trying to get some things fixed. She'll be heading to Utah to stay with her family and to spend time visiting with various doctors, therapists, specialists, acupuncturists, astrologers, tribal witch doctors, and other professionals, all while not having to worry about kids, homework, meals, laundry, cleaning, living in a foreign culture, and speaking Swiss German (which even the Swiss themselves have finally started admitting they don't really understand).
The plan is for Stace to come back to Switzerland for at least a visit in March, when our friend Gretchen will be here and Lindsey will have her birthday. We'll see how things are going at that point, but I'm figuring that this is going to take more than a couple of months. In the meantime, the kids and I will have a great time. We've scrapped plans for Egypt right now. That's more than I'm willing to take on as a single parent. I'm thinking Disneyland again, which would be much easier to handle (and about a fourth of the cost of Egypt). We'll see. Things will be fine. The kids and I do well together.
Here's hoping that the time away will get Stace headed in the right direction. I believe it was Mark Twain who said, "Every one of us has challenges in life. Mine happens to be blond."

Good luck to both of you. I'll be anxious to hear how things work out.
So is she going to fly back to Switzerland with me...because that would just be fun!
